The short version: your travel data is yours. It lives on your iPhone and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud account. Flown has no user accounts, no analytics, and no advertising or tracking of any kind. A minimal lookup service powers optional live flight data for Pro subscribers and keeps nothing about you.
If you grant calendar access, Flown scans your calendar entirely on your device to spot flights and holidays you might want to import. No calendar content — titles, locations, notes, or anything else — is ever transmitted anywhere, to us or to anyone.
Everything you log is stored in the app's private database on your iPhone. If you are signed in to iCloud, it also syncs through your own iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit) so your travel history follows you across your devices and can be restored if you reinstall. This data lives in your private iCloud space — we have no access to it and hold no copy of it. You can remove it at any time by deleting the app and, if you wish, clearing Flown's data from iCloud in your device Settings.
If you subscribe to Flown Pro and use a live feature, the app sends only the minimum needed for that lookup — a flight number, a route (airport codes), and/or a date — to Flown's lookup service. That service verifies your App Store subscription and forwards the request to licensed flight-data providers. We keep no accounts and retain no personal data about you; these requests are not linked to your identity, and any cached result is keyed only on route and date. Your calendar content is never included. Providers handle the forwarded lookups under their own privacy policies.
No accounts, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporters that phone home, no advertising, no identifiers, and no tracking. Flown's lookup service verifies subscriptions and forwards flight queries, and stores no personal data.
If a future feature changes any of the above, we will update this policy before that feature ships.
